Motivation Monday| Failures

Hi,

Let me tell you a story about a girl. A little brown girl who lived in a fairytale. Her favorite tale was Cinderella because Cinderella wasn’t born a princess but she had the qualities that could rule the world in peace. She loved Cinderella and felt like her because just like Cinderella she wasn’t born with a silver spoon in her mouth but had high dreams. However, this girl imagined that she was locked up in this high tower and someday she would get out of it and see the light of the world. She knew the world wasn’t how she imagined it but she wanted to taste, feel and see how it really was.

She grew up and while growing up she came to know the world was much more than what she thought. She saw happy colors and light around her but she realised it wasn’t all like that. There was darkness too. She realised the world was filled with both darkness and light and now it was upto her to choose a side. She was curious. She wanted to know how the dark place was and so she tried it. All she got was hurt and stabbed. She was very hurt and she was ready to give up that day when it struck her mind that there was another place. The light. The girl let go of all the darkness that held her and stepped into the light. Right from that moment her life changed. She smiled, her heart laughed, her eyes twinkled with joy.

She realised every fairytale has both sides and its upto us to decide. And she decided it go with light.

Back to present…
The little girl in the story is me. Yes I love fairytale and yes I consider myself to be Cinderella locked up in a tower. Yes I have seen the darkness. I have been a victim of racism. Those years were my toughest time when I hated myself for who I was. There were times when I was called ugly and I knew I will never be liked or loved by anyone. I was not one of those people whose touch can lead to success. I have failed at many things and I was ready to give up. But I realised I was strong. If I could make it till now I know if I would try more I’ll be able to succeed. And so now I cherish my failures because without them I wouldn’t know what struggle is. And if there isn’t any struggle..it isn’t life.

One thing I would want to tell every girl, boy, woman, man who has been a victim of racism or who has tasted the darkness and didn’t like it…You have a choice. It upto us to choose what we want. And with a bit of kindness and courage you can be the King or Queen of your own land.
Just remember a bit of Courage and Kindness. ☺

you might loose the traffic my dear.

      2. The beauty of blogging: You are in India (I suppose?) and I am in America, different time zones, different foods, cultures, people, clothing…. but at the end of the day, we all come together in the wonderful blogosphere 😀 I really really love all the conversations we have had on each others blogs and I would like to continue but I need to go sleep (just so you don’t think I might have abandoned you :D). Good night for me and Good morning for you 😀 😀 😀

  3. Lovely post and beautifully written! As a fellow brown girl I’ve definitely struggled with self-esteem and confidence. Constantly trying to fit in and all. But yes you’re right, it’s important to stay strong and fight through because your success will speak for itself 🙂

    1. I am glad you found it so. ❤ Thank you soo much :* and as black diamonds are rare…we're just like those diamonds ❤ Never consider yourself less because of you're color. People who comment on colors are just jealous. That's what I tell my heart if I feel it would get hurt :p
